Stop Making Us Prove It: Believing Is The Accommodation

This talk is about the power of being you, disabling shame, and how belief is at the root of all of it.

Julie Harris, author of Boldly Belong and founder of Ernesty, will explore why Autistic people are so often asked to prove before anyone will believe them, what that does to self-trust, and why believing is the most effective accommodation there is.

She will draw on themes and excerpts from Boldly Belong, including shame, internalized ableism, and people-pleasing, and how family, friends, and employers can change Autistic lives simply by believing them.

She will also introduce Ernesty as a powerful tool for knowing and asserting your workplace rights when being believed is not the norm.
